Our services
Technical translations
Translation is our area of greatest expertise
We are able to offer you translations in over 500 language combinations. We can process your texts by working together with a worldwide network of over 600 medical experts in the widest possible range of specialist fields, including pharmacists, medical technicians, biotechnologists, physicists, etc. It goes without saying that all our translators translate exclusively into their own mother tongue.
Translator qualification
In order to fulfill your expectations of the highest quality possible, all our translators first undergo our own in-house multi-step qualification process, in which their technical knowledge as well as their linguistic competence and writing style are tested thoroughly. Our project managers only work with translators with the most impressive profiles who have also passed our tests.
However, the guaranteed quality that you expect from us is ensured not just by this multi-step entrance test, but also because we carry out a continual review of the translations produced.
Translation process
We can work in virtually all formats in the translation process
- Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- XML and HTML
- DTP solutions in Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, Adobe FrameMaker, Interleaf and QuickSilver
- We can create tailor-made solutions, e.g. when working with the client’s own programs or translating from a hardcopy source.
No matter how unusual the language combination or how time-critical your order is, we are here for you and we can draw on the finest technical translators from our pool for your project.
Copy-editing
Our translators always check their own texts.
We can also offer you an optional copy-editing service carried out by a second technical translator who works in the same specialist field. This means that your texts will undergo the most rigorous review before they are published or submitted to the authorities.
This double-check principle is one of the specifications of the DIN EN ISO 17100 Standard under which we are registered.
Texts which require a particular layout after translation are checked by our translators who review the spelling, punctuation, syllable divisions and layout before releasing the texts for printing.
Our translators can also review your texts, such as publications, letters, etc., to ensure that they are grammatically correct and stylistically polished when they are returned to you.
Notarizations / Apostilles
medical language service works together with sworn translators.
Our range of services includes:
- Notarizations
- Apostilles (secondary authentications by a national court)
- Notarial authentications
Each notarization is performed in compliance with the country’s regulations.
Clinical trials and pharmaceutical approvals
Your trials have gone well – and your next step is to launch your new product onto the market. We are ready to support you here too: We will be your partner before, during and after marketing authorization.
We can, among other things, translate your correspondence with all the relevant authorities, such as the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM), European Medicines Agency (EMA), Swissmedic, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Paul-Ehrlich-Institut (PEI), German Federal Institute for Health Protection of Consumers and Veterinary Medicine (BgVV), ethics committees, and the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as trial synopses, diaries (patient diaries), informed consent forms (ICFs), PSURs (periodic safety update reports) and medical reports.
We can provide you with advice and support in all linguistic matters throughout the pharmaceutical marketing authorization process: our specialists can translate the product and prescribing information (SPC/PIL/Labelling) for you during the centralized (CP), decentralized (DCP, MRP) or national marketing authorization procedure. Consistent compliance with the specifications of the regulatory authorities (e.g. QRD templates, EDQM standard terms, MedDRA) is a fundamental element of our translations.
A revision of the marketing authorization documents takes place once your product has been launched onto the market. We’ll be right beside you here as well and we can carry out the implementation of any variations for you in all foreign language versions.
Terminology management
Our terminology management is targeted towards preparing optimum, company-specific translations while taking the reduction of costs into due consideration.
We operate a perfect terminology management system which allows us to optimize the translation process. Your texts are translated using professional translation tools (CAT tools) and the terminology database is built up on a company- and/or project-specific basis. We also undertake the maintenance of these translation memories.
We have SDL Trados certification for translation processes as well as project management.
Desktop Publishing / Print
We can offer you comprehensive service: translation, DTP, reviewing and print approval. Our project managers will coordinate these interfaces and arrange a final deadline with you.
Our DTP team works with all of the most up-to-date layout, graphics and image editing programs, such as:
- Adobe InDesign (CS6, CC2014 to CC2020)
- Adobe Illustrator (CS6, CC2014 to CC2020)
- Adobe Photoshop (CS6, CC2014 to CC2020)
- Adobe FrameMaker (FM 7 to FM 12, CC2015, CC2017 and CC2019)
- CorelDRAW Graphics Suite
- Interleaf/QuickSilver
- Microsoft Visio
Along with the standard interfaces, we also work with interfaces developed in-house for established CAT (Computer Aided Translation) systems, with the focus on your specific requirements.
We are experts in foreign language typesetting and we are also highly proficient in transcribing languages which are more demanding in their layout. This means that typesetting for languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese and Korean is part of our normal routine business.
Once the type has been set for the foreign language documentation, it is always checked by our translators. Thus, in addition to the language check, we also check the coordination of the text and layout.
You will receive print-ready files from us which have been checked by the translator exclusively.
Interpreting
Are you planning a conference or an on-site meeting to be held in several languages?
We can help you with this too, as we can supply you with qualified interpreters.
Localization
In parallel with translation, medical language service will also look after the localization of all of those special details relevant to each country which relate to government policy, environment, society, economy and technical progress. This applies to texts, images and graphics.
Also in parallel with translation, our translators and the project management team will look after all other linguistic issues, formatting styles and conventions.
Medical Writing
You don’t have time to write up your publication? No problem! We are delighted to be able to offer you our medical writing service. Just send us your data and your specifications, and we will prepare your publication / presentation / texts.
Readability testing
We are your point of contact when it comes to readability testing for patient information leaflets (PIL). We can provide this service for you in all EU languages, and we can also carry out the bridging of texts.
Country coordination
In order to be able to provide you with an optimum portfolio for all your requirements, we can take over the coordination with your national representatives. We can offer you a comprehensive project management service for all parties involved, right up until printing release.
Film soundtracks
We can translate the voice-over texts for films promoting your product into your required target languages. We can also offer you a voice-over recorded by a native speaker in a professional sound studio.
